Around 400 years ago, in the back of this 16th century building, a hotel was set up in an inn that was called "'t Schomynckel", which literally means "Beautiful Place". Later, the contiguous houses, dated also of the 16th century, were transformed in Neo-Renaissance style and integrated within the hotel compound. Through the porch (the current entrance), we ad access to a patio with a well and stables. In 1908, that patio was covered with a colorful, unique stained glass dome in late Art Nouveau style.

Facilities and Services

Essentially after the second World War, modernization and restoration works have been executed by the family Marιcaux, the last one started in 1993, so the hotel added, as far as comfort is concerned, a real modern dimension to its traditions. Yesterday for the Bruges Beau Monde, now a banqueting hall for the Bruges Society for their meetings, celebrations, weddings and dinners. In the morning, a breakfast buffet awaits you and the bar is at your disposal 24 hours long. Underground parking spaces are available only 50 yards away.
