The Sheraton Hotel Taipei was officially opened in 1981 and represented a new standard in luxury hotel accommodation in Taipei. The Sheraton Hotel Taipei provides 686 rooms including 71 suites to choose from. Room types range from the Superior Single to the palatial two-story Presidential Suite. For the business traveler an especially popular choice is the BizNet Room, which is equipped with remote computer keyboard with Internet, e-mail and Microsoft Office access.
In addition to more than 300 non-smoking rooms, the Sheraton Hotel Taipei also offers Ladies-Only rooms, with special amenities and added security for lady travelers. For guests with special needs, the hotel also has accommodations for the handicapped.
Finally, three floors are reserved for members of the Starwood Preferred Guest program. A members-only lounge is located on the 12th floor, where Starwood Preferred Guests may relax. Complimentary afternoon tea is served daily. All guest rooms are air-conditioned and include voice-mail telephones with data ports and emergency smoke hoods for safe evacuation in case of fire. The Momoyama offers Japanese cuisine in the setting of a traditional Japanese Inn_ while the Teppanyaki specializes in grilled steaks and seafood prepared in that special teppanyaki style.
