Opened in 1927 by His Majesty King George V, The May Fair is a grand five-star hotel, situated in one of London's finest locations, Mayfair.This prestigious London hotel is undergoing a £70 million refurbishment programme to be completed by the summer of 2006. Phase one has been completed with the successful launch of The May Fair bar, Amba bar and grill, and May Fair Health Spa.The new contemporary lobby has been furnished with creations from some of the world's top design houses_ sofas and chairs by Fendi, chandeliers by Baccarat and paintings from St Petersburg

Accommodation

The May Fair provides 295 beautifully appointed bedrooms and suites. In room amenities include fridges with complimentary bottled water, turn down service, dual-line phones and modem connections. Additionally there are 50 luxurious one and two bedroom suites (18 with grand Jacuzzis). The hotel's five signature suites have been sumptuously decorated with rich fabrics and fine furnishings.



Restaurant

DININGS & BARS: The stylish, contemporary restaurant, Opus 70, offers international cuisine and fine wine at very reasonable prices. The adjacent Chateau Bar, a sophisticated piano bar, is a favourite rendezvous, having all the warmth and conviviality of a Mayfair club. The May Fair Café on Berkeley Street is a relaxed meeting place for breakfast and lunch any day of the week. The Lobby Lounge serves continental breakfast, morning coffee and a selection of afternoon teas. Our traditional English pub, The May Fair Bar, serves tasty home-made bar food and draught ale and features a giant screen TV. For your personal convenience, 24-hour Room Service is available.

Opus 70 This stylish, contemporary restaurant first opened on Stratton Street in February 1997. The restaurant offers a set menu for lunch and an à la carte menu for dinner and is open for Sunday lunch, featuring live music.

The menus include modern British dishes as well as those influenced by America and the Far East. There is a wide selection of grills, with portions available in 'London' or 'New York' sizes. Emphasis is placed on providing good food and wine at reasonable prices, friendly service and a relaxed, informal atmosphere. The restaurant can serve up to 85 people.

The May Fair Café is a relaxed, sunny brasserie, which seats up to 80 people. Buffet and à la carte breakfast are available and a wide selection of Mediterranean-style dishes is offered for lunch.

The attractive Lobby Lounge serves continental breakfast, morning coffee and traditional afternoon tea. Unwind to the soothing sounds of our resident harpist whilst enjoying a delicious selection of pastries and sandwiches, served with a wide variety of teas.

The May Fair Bar A traditional English pub serving home-made bar food and draught ale. Major sports events and other occasions are shown on the bar's giant TV screen.
