Bantry Bay, the start of the Platinum Mile, introduces the President Hotel, a sectional title concept in affordable business and holiday accommodation. Only 25km (15.5 miles) from Cape Town International Airport, 5km (3.1 miles) from Cape Town station and central Cape Town, minutes from famous beaches.
Although close to the vibrant Cape Town city centre, the hotel and its natural setting retain the relaxed, friendly atmosphere unique to seaside resorts. The tranquil ambience is reflected throughout the hotel, from the elegant reception area, out on to the magnificent pool deck with its tall palms and sheltered loungers, through to the dining and entertainment areas. With majestic Lion's head as a backdrop and azure Atlantic Ocean before it, the President Hotel must surely be one of the most ideally situated in the world.
Accommodation
Accommodation at the Protea Hotel President comprises 349 well-appointed rooms and suites on the Bantry Bay beachfront. In accordance with new smoking legislations, the hotel now offers two non-smoking floor, consisting of 120 dedicated non-smoking rooms.
Room choices range from Standard Rooms and Junior Suites to Superior and Executive Suites. All rooms and suites contain a remote control television, hairdryer, telephone, sleeper couch, individual air conditioning, room safe and electronic locking devices on all doors.
Our recent refurbishment has seen all of our passageways recarpeted and repainted, to create a warm and welcoming feeling for our valued GUESTS.
You will also find brand new sleeper couches in all seafacing rooms, as well as new voile curtains and desk lamps. All chairs in the rooms have been recovered and the rooms are looking totally refreshed. But, don`t take our word for it...come and experience it for yourself.
Restaurant
The Islands Restaurant serves a sumptuous buffet breakfast, a la carte lunch and buffet dinner. Varied entertainment - in the form of Bands and a pianist, or wine tasting - create the ideal atmosphere for GUESTS wishing to relax and enjoy a splendid meal.
For GUESTS who wish to savour a light meal or beverage whilst taking in a spectacular view, the Terrace is the ideal venue. The Senate Bar is open from 2pm till late and the STAFF look forward to serving you the cocktail of your choice. There is also a lounge area in which GUESTS may relax with sundowners.
LEISURE: Spend lazy afternoons at the swimming pool, taking in the stunning views of the beach, or enjoy a number of sporting facilities (including watersports) in the vicinity. These include Tennis, squash, bowls, golf, jetskis and a gym.
Other Facilities Included ~ There is an in-house physiotherapist and doctor on call to the hotel, while other facilities include a hairdresser and beauty salon, GUEST utility kiosk and a curio shop. Babysitting services, undercover parking for approximately 200 vehicles, as well as open parking, are available.
If you`re looking to do some shopping, the Canal Walk Shopping Centre has a scheduled shuttle which will pick you up and drop you back off, right outside the hotel's front door. The V&A Waterfront also runs a shuttle which stops nearby the hotel.

CONFERENCE & BANQUETING FACILITIES: 3 conference rooms can be converted into 1 or 2 larger conference rooms. Each conference room holds 100 delegates in cinema style and 60 guests banquet style . Combined, the seating capacity increases to 350 delegates in cinema style and 220 guests in banquet style. 1 boardroom is available, accommodating up to 8 delegates . If you`re looking for a "Theme Evening with a difference", try out a beer fest in our underground Parking Garage. Don`t knock it `til you`ve tried it.
