Accommodation
The family hotel Hvala is well known to fishermen from the entire Europe, who come and return to the shores of the river Soca which has been recognised as a special diamond among mountain rivers of the Central Europe.
Our hotel is especially kind to families with children or house pets, which are always welcome under our roof. There are 28 rooms available in the three-storied hotel. Our facilities also include a business apartment and two apartments aimed at families, bur we are especially happy to have a chance to host and provide comfortable accommodation to physically challenged people, whom we make one apartment available.
Restaurant
It has been two decades, since the restaurant Topli val has opened its door in Kobarid and carried the glory of the town via its culinary peculiarities and fish dishes world wide.
Freshwater fish and seafood dishes, carefully prepared in accordance with selected recipes, has attracted gourmets from the entire Slovenia and abroad, especially from the nearby Italy. At new location (under the roof of the Hotel Hvala), the restaurant Topli val continues its past reputation and adds new specialities to its traditional menu.
Restaurant Topli val is mainly opened for hotel guests, however, family Hvala serves there with pleasure non-hotel guests too. In three rooms, the restaurant offers 190 sits, which enable service to individual guests, small groups and can take in a bus or two of people at the same time.
Hotel Hvala is friendly to bus groups and especially to seniors who are offered superb menus in terms of diet food or light food upon their special desire.
Specialities of the house are linked to the water. They come from the river, mainly from the nearest river Soca and from see waters.. Daily supply of fresh fish is provided. The most desirable dishes besides fish are: mushrooms, truffles from the Istria, and a range of domestic house dishes.
The peculiarity of the restaurant Toli val is 'kobariški štruklji' (dumplings with nut filling). However, the extravagance of our house is represented by trout salami, which enriched our wide array of salami out of beef, pork chicken and mountain game.
Children and those who enjoy sweets after a good meal may find a palette of home made pastries made in accordance with the grandma' s cuisine.
However, the domain of deserts is no exception in house practices, rather it reflects the unique approach notable throughout the house: "take the old and recognised and add something new and different. Indulge yourself in surprises
Intimate spirits, friendly service and qualitative food along with hosts who advice on food and offer appropriate drink along the selected dish, will turn into a pleasant visit, which shall remain in visitor's memory and give rise to a motive for another visit. Upon special wish of larger bus groups, life music or a background music accompanying culinary enjoyment may be organised.
